I have been too deeply hurt. I’ve tried to save the Shire, and it has been saved, but not for me. It must often be so, when things are in danger: some one has to give them up, lose them, so that others can keep them.

Dear Hobbits and Elves, Men of Rohan and Gondor, Orcs, Gollums, Nazguls and Uruks, dear Marc and everyone who contributed in one way or another to our Lexi*Con:

We’ve been thinking about this for some time now and have finally decided to stop the Lexi*Con for a variety of reasons. We’re deeply sorry about it, as we all put a lot of time, love and effort into this website. We still have some wonderful interviews in store; lots of photos that never made their way onto the page – ashes on our tomatoes.

Ring*Con always gave us a really good time. We met fantastic people and forged strong friendships. But sometimes you have to move on, and our real lives have become more and more demanding over the last months. We won’t make it to this year’s Ring*Con, and we are convinced that it’s better to stop something than do it half-heartedly.

In addition, everything that has so many positive sides eventually has some darker ones, too, and evokes the usual feelings of jealousy and so on in a few people. We won’t get into that here; let’s just say it was the last straw. You may find some pieces of the Lexi*Con on our personal homepages over the time – just check them out now and then: www.malinke.de (Goldentree), www.jeankilbirnie.de.vu (Jean), www.nephthys.de.be (Nephthys) and www.technik-plus.com (Tobi).

We have to thank many, many people. First of all the fans, who made this website a huge success simply by accepting and using it, even loving it from all we could see. A huge thanks to everyone who contributed to the Lexi*Con in one way or another, may it be with ideas, interviews, texts, translations, photos, comments and so on. Without you, the Lexi*Con wouldn't have become what it was. And last but not least thanks to our Master of Ceremonies, Marc B. Lee. Marc, you always supported us and encouraged us when we needed it most, thank you so much!

We regret to announce: this is the end. We are leaving now. We will not say: do not weep, for not all tears are an evil. We wish you all a very fond farewell – good bye!
